My journey has been marked by resilience and determination in the face of adversity. When I was just 9 years old, I lost my father. As one of four siblings, our mother supported us by working in other people’s homes, and we all took on work to help the family. Life was challenging—our home was destroyed by the Jamuna River, and there were times when we could not even manage one meal a day.

Faced with these hardships, my mother arranged my marriage to an older man, leaving me with no other option. I became a mother to a beautiful daughter. However, my marriage soon turned turbulent, and I suffered abuse at the hands of my husband. Seeking relief and safety, I made the difficult decision to leave with my daughter and move to Dhaka.
এই কষ্টসমূহের মুখোমুখি হয়ে, আমার মা আমাকে বয়স্ক এক ব্যক্তির সাথে বিয়ে দেন, আমার কাছে আর কোনো বিকল্প ছিল না। আমি একটি সুন্দর মেয়ের মা হই। কিন্তু আমার বিবাহ শীঘ্রই অশান্তিতে পরিণত হয় এবং স্বামীর নির্যাতনে আমি যন্ত্রণার সম্মুখীন হই। স্বস্তি ও নিরাপত্তার খোঁজে, আমি কঠিন সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে আমার মেয়েকে নিয়ে ঢাকায় চলে আসি।
In Dhaka, I worked relentlessly in a cotton factory. Despite my hard work, it wasn’t enough to provide adequately for my daughter and myself. My life began to change when I met a woman from my hometown. She encouraged me to seek employment at Utah Knitting & Dyeing Ltd., citing their good salaries and job security. Thanks to my work experience, I secured a job as a helper. Since then, I have been promoted to Senior Operator.

Now, my daughter can attend school, and I am enjoying a life of dignity and stability. No one can force me into anything or inflict harm upon me. My standard of living has improved significantly. I am committed to continuing my work at Utah Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. for as long as the management will have me, and I look forward to a brighter future for my family.
